Dear Parents and Carers,
PARENT SURVEY
We have received the results of the Parent Survey conducted earlier this term. 208 parents out of 479 families responded. We appreciate the time taken by parents to offer feedback - both areas of success for our school and areas that require consideration. We are extremely pleased with the results, which demonstrate high levels of satisfaction in the school’s operation. Here is the summary and the scoring scale:
The Leadership Team will review parent comments and determine ways of acting on areas for improvement. We appreciate the feedback as we continue to work towards high levels of success in our school. Our partnership with parents is key to this.
VISITORS/VOLUNTEERS IN OUR SCHOOL
It is a timely reminder that all parents, visitors and volunteers to the school must enter via the Front Office and sign into the school. A ‘Visitor’s Badge/Sticker’ must be worn at all times within the school. Visitors will be required to report to the Front Office at the end of their visit to ‘sign out’ in the Visitors’ book. All volunteers are required to have a Working with Vulnerable People card, and must have it in their possession whilst working in the school or at a school event, such as an excursion. Volunteers can apply for a card from the ACT Shopfront free of charge. More information can be found here. For one off events, parents can fill in a Statutory Declaration at the Front Office. We value our parent/carer volunteers and are grateful for their support. Student safety is our priority.
CARPARK SAFETY
An area of constant parent frustration is the carpark. We understand your concerns. Unfortunately, we really cannot do anything about the afternoon traffic. We have five staff members on duty every afternoon, working hard to monitor student safety and traffic flow. We ask that all parents are patient and drive/act in a safe manner around this area. It is extremely worrying to see parents crossing with their children through oncoming traffic, to walk to the dirt carpark opposite the ELC. We ask that the pedestrian crossing is used for the safety of all.
R U OK?
Today is R U OK Day. Take the time to meaningfully reach out and start a conversation with anyone who may be struggling with life. You don’t need to be an expert to reach out, just a good friend and a listener.
PRAYERS
Please keep in your prayers our Year 3 children who will receive the Eucharist for the first time this Sunday.
Please also pray for all members of our school community who are experiencing difficulty, are ill or are suffering.
George in Year 2 has prayed for our farmers.
WALK & TALK-A-THON
This is the school’s major fundraiser of the year. Please support it in any way you can. Thank you to all those parents who have volunteered their time on the day – over 60 people! How wonderful. Save the date – Friday 20th of September.
Thank you for your constant support as we work together to educate your child.
