Dear Parents & Carers
The Community Council has its first meeting for the year next Monday night at 7.00 pm. A Community Council is a governing body made up of parents, staff and Parish members who are responsible for assisting me in providing leadership to the wider school community. The Community Council supports the school and offers advice in these areas.
I ask all parents to consider joining the Community Council!
Holy Spirit Primary School has very clear behaviour expectations for its students. Here are the steps that are followed for inappropriate behaviour.
WORKING WITH VULNERABLE PEOPLE
ANY PARENT who volunteers to assist in classrooms, with sporting teams, clothing pool, etc MUST HAVE A WORKING WITH VULNERABLE PEOPLE CARD on them at all times. As with your driver’s licence renewal, your photo will be taken at Canberra Connect Office, and a card sent to you within a few weeks. There is no fee for this. Please ensure you renew your card online and when your new card arrives please bring it into the school so it can be photocopied and a copy left at the school. Thank you.
Have a good week.

Bravehearts is the only Australian charity specifically dedicated to preventing the crime of child sexual assault and their Vision is to make Australia the safest place in the world to raise a child. Each year Bravehearts’ major fundraising activity is the 777 Marathon where National Runners tackle 7 marathons, over 7 states, in 7 days. Mid this year Ross Scott (dad of Jorja in 5 Eldridge) will take on this massive challenge as a National Runner. In addition to this already incredible feat, each runner has committed to raising a minimum of $10,000 by June 2020 for the prevention of child sexual assault. If this amazing cause is something that resonates with you then your donation or sponsorship would be greatly appreciated.
An Evening with Dr Justin Coulson, Merici College 2 March 6.30pm
Dr Justin Coulson, one of Australia’s most respected parenting authors and speakers, will be visiting Merici College on Monday 2 March. As a psychologist, and a father of six girls, he will be sharing his insights into what is really going on in the minds of our teenage daughters, how are they feeling and how we can stay connected with them. He will also be talking about his new book, Miss-Connection. Justin’s presentation will be held in the Merici auditorium from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, $5.00 per person. Please follow the link https://www.trybooking.com/BINLZ for bookings. We warmly invite our Merici families, as well as our wider community to come along.
